Ben Beakes

Ben Beakes is the founder and managing member of Three Point Strategies, LLC, a government affairs and public relations firm based in West Virginia. His firm manages the Metallurgical Coal Producers Association (MCPA), where he serves as President. The MCPA was founded in 2020 and advocates for the metallurgical coal industry.

A 2002 political science graduate from the University of Charleston, Beakes began his career as the political director of the West Virginia Republican Party. In 2005, he served as Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Betty Ireland. After a short stint in the private sector, Beakes was appointed state director of the McCain 2008 presidential campaign in West Virginia.

In 2009, Beakes had the privilege of serving his alma mater as its Vice President for University Development, a position he held for five years. In 2014, Beakes became the Director of Government and External Affairs for Alpha Natural Resources before starting his own business on September 1, 2015.

Beakes resides in Cross Lanes, West Virginia, with his wife, Sarah, and their children, Chloe and Cooper.
