John Scalzo

John Scalzo is Vice President of Regulatory and Finance for Appalachian Power Company and Wheeling Power Company. In this role, he oversees the Regulatory Services and Business Operations Departments, managing rate and regulatory matters for Appalachian Power’s West Virginia and Virginia jurisdictions, as well as for Wheeling Power and Kingsport Power Company in Tennessee. He also directs the companies’ long-term financial planning and oversees the allocation of capital and operational resources.
Mr. Scalzo holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration from Capital University. He joined AEP in 2002 as a Staff Accountant and has since held a variety of increasingly senior roles within AEP’s accounting and business departments. He assumed his current position in September 2020.
