John Sammons is a professor of cyber forensics and security and serves as the Associate Director of the Marshall University Institute for Cyber Security. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses focused on cyber forensics and security.
John is the author, co-author, or contributor of several publications, including the best-selling The Basics of Digital Forensics, published by Syngress.
Prior to his academic career, John served for nearly a decade as a law enforcement officer with the Huntington Police Department.
A frequent speaker on digital forensics and cybercrime, John has presented at national conferences such as the Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the National Cybercrime Conference, and the Dallas Crimes Against Children Conference.
